Another important cave of the District is that of Peristeras. It is located approximately two and a half kilometers east of the settlement of Karydi, in Platyvola and at an altitude of 540. It develops mainly horizontally and is one of the largest active underground rivers in Greece with a total mapped development of 8,247 m and a depth of 371 m.

The configuration of the cave is varied and alternates with vertical passages, large tunnels, as well as 7 siphons (flooded sections), which limit access and can be crossed by cave diving.
